Team 2845 is now an official FIRST Tech Challenge team – a community based, hometown team open to youth in the NW Hillsborough county area in Odessa, FL.

A community team will help:

*Makes FIRST Tech Challenge robotics accessible to more students at all levels, not just those attending special schools or programs;

*Helps maintain and continue the initial enthusiasm and interest in math, science and technology inspired by FIRST LEGO League;

*Makes science and technology a desired end in itself, a necessary step in meeting the challenges of our future and imparting the skills our next generation will need to be successful in the 21st century.

Raising a scientifically and technologically literate generation should be of utmost importance in our society at all levels, not just in special public schools or in private schools.

Inspiring youth at the community level will bring us closer to Dean Kamen’s transformative vision of “a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes.”
