Team Duct Tape will be volunteering at the first ever TEDx Tampa Bay event this coming Friday. TEDx is a local, self-organized version of the well known TED Talks program, bringing people together at a regional level to share share ideas worth spreading. This is a great opportunity for TDT students to hear some leading thinkers from the Tampa Bay area share their thoughts on Technology, Entertainment, Design — three broad subject areas that are, collectively, shaping our future, and of which our youth will be an integral part.
TEDx Tampa Bay presenters include speakers as diverse as Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia to James Tokley, Tampa’s first official Poet Laureate, to Elizabeth Davis, founder of the Akilah Institute for Women in Rwanda, to Charles Armstrong, CEO of SPARK LABS to Pete Taylor, a nationally recognized pizza expert, and many more!
We’re deeply honored to be able to include TDT members in this one of a kind event, and to expose them to Big Ideas we hope will inspire them to Bigger Ideas of their own!
