The day started off some great networking with other teams, and with some pretty unpromising practice runs,

where nothing seemed to go right.  Some solid teamwork got things back on track though, and we were in good shape by Opening Ceremonies.

Speakers included Dr. Woody Flowers and Dean Kamen who is always a treat to hear.  Then it was right into the queing line, where we stayed for the next couple of hours.

The matches run fast and furious – no rematches, no challenges.  Everything will either work or it won’t.  By the end of the day, everything worked for us, and we finished our third match with a score of 225, ranking us 8th in our division.

The whole day was great fun, from all the terrific people we got to talk to, to all the fantastic sights – everything from a tiki-themed robot to the Button Girl on MARTA!

Can’t wait to see what tomorrow holds!

A better link for watching the matches is http://science.ksc.nasa.gov/robotics/ FTC matches are being held on the Davinci field. TDT is in the Edison division, and we’re competing in matches 50, 62,75 and the very last match, 88.  The first two matches are on the Red field, the second on the Blue field and the last back on the  Red field.  You may or may not catch a glimpse of us, since filming alternates between fields with matches running concurrently between Edison and Franklin.  Whether it’s us or another team, though, it’s a great competition to watch and the teams are top notch!
