
As we move to more online programming, one of the our first offerings this summer is a three day “Intro to CAD” class offered by team member, Maalav. With several students set to graduate this year, we want to make sure everyone is cross trained on as many team roles and skillsets as possible, especially our new team members.
Our introductory Computer Aided Design class runs July 10-12, 11am to noon each day.
The class, appropriate for ages 12+, will focus on AutoDesk Inventor, provided free to students through most classroom or educational platforms. The class will cover:

What is CAD
What is Inventor
Quick overview of how to download
Types of Inventor Files (part, assemblies, presentations, dwgs)
Basics of sketching
-constraints
-dimensioning
Day 2:
3D modeling
-Extrudes
-Revolves
-3D print environment
Day 3:
Assemblies
-Placing parts
-Constraints
-Motion Constraints
