This just in:
1) Competition kit delivery has been delayed because of a missing component. Currently, kits are due to ship September 5, and should arrive about three days after that.
2) FTC Mentor Orientation, 101 is a teleconference scheduled for Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 7 pm EST.. It will provide useful guidelines for forming, organizing, and shaping an FTC team for a new robotics season.
Suggestions for building team goals, planning activities, developing effective communications, defining roles and responsibilities, and locating helpful resources will be covered. This call will be led by FTC Affiliate Partner Jill Wilker, and be assisted by Senior Mentor Kathie Kentfield, and FTC Partner Manager JoAnn Halloran.
There will be 150 lines available, so lines are on a first come, first served basis. This call will be recorded and become available for download at: http://www.usfirst.org/community/ftc/content.aspx?id=10090

“I just found a website with (from what I can tell) the only high resolution images of the new kit. They where taken by Team Unlimited who where chosen as a team to test the new kit and then do a demo with a few other teams at the world competition. I found these images very helpful to see what we are going to be working with. it looks like we have enough parts to build almost any kind of medium sized robot.
