TDT on the Road!
We’ve been pounding the outreach pavement since the State Championship Feb. 18th, participating in the always wonderful Lockheed MartinE-week event Feb. 22 in Orlando, and last night hanging with friends at a PTC User Group Meeting reception in St. Petersburg.
It’s always fun to share FIRST with others, especially in the company of other great teams, like Pandera from the Palm Harbor University High School Robotics Club, who was kind enough to share lessons learned for our redesign. Now that’s some serious GP!
Tonight, we head over to Sweet Tomatoes for a World Championship fundraiser (don’t forget to bring the flyer, if you’re joining us!), and next Saturday, March 24, you can find us at the Carrollwood Barnes & Noble to kick off a week long Team Duct Tape benefit Book Faire at B&N!
Then, the following Saturday, March 31, we’ll be at the first ever Tampa Bay Mini Maker Faire.
In between, team members are working hard on World Championship readiness, redesigning their robot, and readying for a build session at our friend Paul Markun’s Tampa Technik shop.
Thanks to everyone for all your incredible help and support, from the technical aspects of the team experience, to the financial ones. The team behind the team is truly incredible!
Thank You, Franklin Jewelers!
As contributions continue to come in to Team Duct Tape, towards our World Championship expenses, we’re humbled and grateful for the continuing support of great community businesses like Franklin Jewelers, small businesses with big hearts and a generous spirit of community giving.
It’s not easy to run a small business in today’s economy, so when a local company steps up to support a community youth academic competition team, we know how and appreciate how valuable the contribution is.
Since 1946, Franklin Jewelers of Land O Lakes, has been offering jewelry appraisals, quality jewelry services and custom jewelry. Franklin Jewelers provided a donation to Team Duct Tape when we went to the World Championship in 2010, and we’re grateful for their generosity again this year.
Thank you, Franklin Jewelers, for your continued support and encouragement!
TDT Heading to Lockheed Martin E-Week

TDT at 2010 Lockheed Martin Eweek
We’re heading to Orlando tomorrow, to join in Lockheed-Martin Global Training and Logistics E-Week celebration. There’s going to be a big complement of FTC teams there, including all three World Championship bound teams. We’re looking forward to a great day with Lockheed Martin engineers, sharing what we love about FIRST Tech Challenge, giving them a chance to drive our robot and – the icing on the cake! – enjoying a tour of the Orlando facility with engineers there!
We can’t wait!
